Fifteen students graduated from Honey Bear Learning Center on Thursday, Aug. 14, at the 28th annual Summer Celebration.

The children sang songs and performed skits for family and friends. Following the distribution of diplomas and awards families shared a pot-luck dinner.

Honey Bear Director Catherine Vanicky addressed the attendees: “Parents, I have a challenge for you. Research has proven that a positive relationship between families, teachers and the school promotes a more beneficial learning experience for the child.  Educational experiences are not just about learning to read and write and follow directions. They are important, but just as important is love, kindness, friendship and being a part of a community. These are lifelong skills which will help all of us flourish.”

Honey Bear is Early Care and Education Center accredited by National Association for the Education of Young Children and an Office of Early Childhood School Readiness Program, licensed for 36 children, open year-round, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with open enrollment at any time for full- and part-time slots for three to five year olds. It is located at 1498 North Avenue.

Honey Bear students celebrate their graduation by rapping their version of the ABC song.
