Did you know that the Koala Bear sleeps for 20 hours a day, and is not really a bear but a marsupial mammal? Or, that the adult human body contains approximately 100 trillion cells?
Every year, Stratford’s K-3 Summer Soiree Summer Enrichment Program staff search for fun and interesting information to incorporate into the six week theme-based summer enrichment program. “We are very excited to have applied and been accepted for a $15,000 grant from the Fairfield County Community Foundation,” said Ty Sims, program coordinator for the South End Community Center. “This grant will allow us to offer 16 low- to-middle income children from Stratford, the opportunity to explore and discover many more fun facts, tuition free.”
The Summer Soiree Program provides children in grades Kindergarten to third grade with well-rounded math, science and reading enrichment for six weeks during their summer vacation.
